黑ヤギの村 / the image of black goats
台湾中西部の雲林県東勢郷は、八重山で暮らしていたある台湾人のふるさとです。私は何度もインタビューをしましたが、そのなかで特に印象に残っているエピソードは黒いヤギにまつわるお話です。
彼女が幼いころ、まだ八重山へ移民する前、村ではたくさんの人が黒いヤギを飼っていました。その世話は子どもたちの役割で、私がインタビューしたその台湾人も例外ではありませんでした。朝、黒いヤギたちは道にあふれ、まるで村が黒く変色したようでした。彼女は一時小学校に通っていたことがありましたが、母親が手伝いを優先させたため、彼女は結局中退することになりました。その後、家族で八重山へ移民した後、戦後の八重山でようやく学校へ通えるようになりました。
黑ヤギは、この台湾人の人生を代表するイメージなのです。
雲林縣東勢鄉是一位八重山的老台灣人的故鄉。我採訪她好多次，對我來說印象很深刻的故事是一下。
她小時候，還沒來到八重山的時期，她的村上有很多人養黑羊，照顧它們是小孩的任務，我採訪的老台灣人也不例外。早上黑羊都出來路上擠滿，好像路變黑色的。她一段時期在國民學校上課，但是因為媽媽優先這個小孩的任務，她放棄念書。後來，她跟家屬一起移民八重山，戰後重新開始八重山的學校。
黑羊的形象是代表這位老台灣人的人生。
Dongshi-village、 Yunlin-pref. is the hometown of an old Taiwanese in Yaeyama、 Okinawa. I have interviewed her many times. The next episode of her is the most impressive and the most visual for me.
When she was a child and her family had not yet moved into Yaeyama, many people had a lot of black goats on her village, the care of them was children’s job, she was no exception. Every morning, black goats came out side, filled the roads. It looked like the color of the village had changed. For a time, she went to elementary school, but dropped out because her mother prioritized care of goats. And, after she and her family had moved into Yaeyama, she restarted to go to school at last.
The image of black goats represents the life of this old taiwanese.
