移動販売のトラック / mobile sales truck
旧暦１月15日は元宵節という大事な節目。台湾各地でそれぞれ独特な伝統行事が行われる。雲林県の東勢郷や褒忠郷といった地域では「吃飯擔」という伝統行事があり、広大な広場で大勢の人が一斉に油飯を食べるのがならわしになっている。油飯の準備は輪番制になっていて、担当になった村の人たちはこの行事に集中することになる。今年は東勢郷月眉村がその任に当たることになった。
私は、村の様子を取材しようと、路地をぶらぶらしていた。すると、一台のトラックの周りに人が集まっているところに出くわした。よく見ると、タイビールのLEOや、タイ語表記のお菓子やコスメが売られている。移動販売をしているらしい。集まっている人たちは海外から働きにきた人たちに違いない。
元宵節といえば台湾の人たちの伝統行事だが、海外から台湾にやってきた人たちにとっては、仕事が休みになったり、勤務時間が短縮されたりする日ということなのだろうか。国際的な労働移動の一側面。
移動販売のトラックで品定めを楽しむ表情に、そんなことを思った。
元宵節。雲林縣東勢鄉和褒忠鄉有馬鳴山鎮安宮的吃飯擔。今年輪到準備油飯的月眉村，大部分民眾不上班，專心吃飯擔的活動。
那一天，我在月眉村街頭看到從國外來到台灣工作人們集合販賣東西卡車那邊，那輛卡車賣著泰國等東南亞表示的貨品。這個風景讓我覺得元宵節那一天月眉村的台灣人休息，因此外勞們也休息或者縮短工作時間，所以他們有買東西的時間。
元宵節也是為了台灣社會和經濟方面很有貢獻的國外勞動者給休息的禮物嗎?
The Chinese traditional festival on lunar 15th Jan. is Yuan Xiao festival. Generally it is called the Lantern festival, because lightening lanterns on that day is a very famous style of Yuan xiao fest. But there are many different styles of Yuan xiao fest. One of them is Chi Fang dan on Yunlin-pref. It means “Carrying meals”.
Yuan xiao fest. of that area is God’s parade through 14 villages all over a day, people who join the parade eat lunch in one of the 14 villages. Residents of the lunch point village share the task of preparing meals. And, once upon a time they carried meals to the lunch area themselves.
Recently people of the lunch point village focus on the Yuan Xiao festival, most of them are off work on that day. I think that, because of this situation, foreign workers who are employed by village people get time off work, or shorten work, too. On the day of the Yuan Xiao fest. I saw foreigners gathering on a mobile sales track on a corner of the village, this scene made me think so. The truck carrying items include LEO beer (the beverage of Thailand), cosmetics with Thai labeling, and so on.
Is The Yuan Xiao festival the gift of giving relaxation time for people of another country helping Taiwanese society and economy?
